Implementation

Distribute an Aha! Moments & Head Scratchers handout to each student. Explain to students that in the “Aha!” section they should write or draw one concept from today’s lesson that they understand well. In the “Head Scratcher” section, they should write or draw something they’re still confused about or need more help with.

Teaching Tips

  • Review tickets before the next class to address common areas of confusion.
  • Consider starting the next class by addressing the most common “Head Scratcher” items.

Supporting All Learners

For students needing additional support: Provide a word bank of key concepts from the lesson for students to use as they complete the handout.

For advanced learners: Encourage students to use the back of the handout to provide specific examples or applications of how they will use their new learning in future lessons.

For multilingual learners: Allow students to write their responses in their home languages, or provide students with key vocabulary in advance.

Note: Provide accommodations and modifications based on your learners’ needs to ensure full participation.
