Implementation

Distribute a Focus Frame Feedback handout to each student. Tell students that they will first identify what they believe is the most important concept from today’s lesson and draw it inside the magnifying glass frame. After completing their drawings, students should then answer the question at the bottom of the handout to reflect and provide feedback on the lesson.

Teaching Tips

  • Model the process by sharing an example of your own drawing and written reflection.
  • Emphasize that artistic ability isn’t being evaluated; students should focus on capturing the key concept.

Supporting All Learners

For students needing additional support: On the back of the handout, provide sentence starters for the written portion.

For advanced learners: Encourage students to add details to support their reasoning, explaining why they think this was the most important takeaway.

For multilingual learners: Allow students to write their responses in their home languages, or provide students with key vocabulary in advance.

Note: Provide accommodations and modifications based on your learners’ needs to ensure full participation.
